PURPOSE: AWARD BID TO REINDERS, INC. FOR 16' RIDING
TRACTOR/MOWER FOR PARKS DEPARTMENT ($99,825.00)
INITIATED BY: PURCHASING DIVISION
WHEREAS, the City of Oshkosh has heretofore advertised for bids for the purchase
of a 16' riding tractor/mower for the Parks Department; and
WHEREAS, upon the opening and tabulation of bids, it appears that the following is
the only bid:
REINDERS, INC.

Total Bid with Trade: $99,825.00
WHEREAS, this bid meets the minimum specifications and staff has reviewed the
bid and recommends its acceptance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of
Oshkosh that the said bid is hereby accepted and the proper City officials are hereby
authorized and directed to enter into an appropriate agreement for the purpose of same, all
according to plans, specifications, and bid on file. Money for this purpose is hereby
appropriated from:

RE: Award Bid to Reinders, Inc. for 16' Riding Tractor/Mower for Parks Department
($99,825.00)
BACKGROUND
The 2020 CII' allocated $100,000 for a replacement tractor/mower for the Parks Department. The new
unit will replace a 1998 unit that due to its age and condition, is beyond its useful service life. With the
addition of Lakeshore Park and changes in the Parks Department's maintenance operations, the purchase
of this 16' tractor/mower will greatly improve operational efficiencies and mowing services.
ANALYSIS
Working with the Public Works Mechanics Manager and Parks Department staff, Purchasing prepared
bid specifications for this unit. The bid was posted on Onvia DemandStar. Bids were due May 27, 2020.
The bid tab is attached. Based on the bid review, it was the consensus of City staff that the sole bid with
trade met the minimum bid requirements.
FISCAL IMPACT
With trade-in the total fiscal impact for this unit is $99,825.00. The 2020 CIP allocated $100,000 for the
unit. This project will be charged to A/N# 0323 0610 7204 66008 (Machinery & Equipment -Tractor
Mower).
RECOMMENDATION
Purchasing recommends the Common Council award this bid to Reinders, Inc. for $99,825.00.
