HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem II.DPLAN COMMISSION STAFF REPORT JUNE 2, 2020 ITEM II.D: ACCEPT STREET, SIDEWALK, ELECTRIC EASEMENT AT 3675 NORTH MAIN STREET GENERAL INFORMATION Applicant: City of Oshkosh Department of Public Works Owner: Trembly Enterprises LLC Actions Requested: The City of Oshkosh is requesting acceptance of an easement to allow placement of street, sidewalk, and electrical facilities at the northeast corner of 3675 North Main Street. Applicable Ordinance Provisions: N/A Property Location and Background Information: The subject site is located at the southwest corner of North Main Street and West Snell Road. The proposed easement is a right triangle, 19.00' x 17.50' x 25.71' and 157.24 square feet in size, located at the northeast corner of the property. The easement will occur in what is currently a rural town road. ANALYSIS The City plans to install an ADA compliant public concrete sidewalk, curb, and underground conduit and wires. In the future the City may install facilities such as traffic signals, an electric pull box, and related equipment and facilities, all of which are upgrades and part of the reconstruction of Snell Road. The City will have continued rights to access the easement area to maintain the facilities. The City has been working with the property owner and he has agreed to grant the easement. The City Attorney's office has drafted the necessary easement documents. The Department of Public Works does not have concerns with the proposal and will work with the property owners to have the appropriate easement documents signed and recorded at the Winnebago County Register of Deeds upon Common Council approval. RECOMMENDATION/CONDITIONS Staff recommends approval of the acceptance of the proposed street, sidewalk and electrical facilities easement as proposed.
