PURPOSE: DIRECT CITY CLERK TO MAIL ABSENTEE BALLOT REQUEST
FORMS TO ALL REGISTERED VOTERS IN THE CITY OF OSHKOSH
FOR THE AUGUST 11, 2020 PARTISAN PRIMARY AND THE
NOVEMBER 3, 2020 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION
INITIATED BY: CITY ADMINISTRATION
WHEREAS, a novel strain of the coronavirus, named COVID-19 spread
throughout numerous countries including the United States during the late winter and
spring of 2020 resulting in Federal, State and Local Declarations of Emergency; and
WHEREAS, concern over the spread of the virus during the April 2020 Wisconsin
Spring Election created challenges for some voters; and
WHEREAS, the City of Oshkosh desires to encourage voting through absentee
ballot and to provide all registered voters with the opportunity to cast their vote in the
August 11, 2020 Partisan Primary and the November 3, 2020 Presidential Election.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council for the City of
Oshkosh that the City Clerk is hereby directed to mail absentee ballot request forms to all
registered voters in the City of Oshkosh for the August 11, 2020 Partisan Primary and the
November 3, 2020 Presidential Election as soon as pfaEt4e-able-aftef the August 44,2
Pfif ,afy EleEfie and contingent of the State Public Health Emergency in Place.
