LIFE TV TO PROVIDE EASTER SUNDAY PROGRAMMING: In the interest of encouraging social distancing while also allowing citizens to participate with their community, Oshkosh Media and the Oshkosh Police Department are teaming up to provide local churches and faith communities the opportunity to air their programming on Oshkosh Media’s Life TV this Easter Sunday, April 12, beginning at 7 a.m. Life TV is available on Spectrum Cable channel 2, and on the Oshkosh Media channel on Roku, Amazon Fire TV and Apple TV, as well as streaming live on OshkoshMedia.org. Churches and faith communities interested in exploring this programming opportunity are encouraged to contact Officer Kate Mann at the Oshkosh Police Department at 236-5742 and kmann@ci.oshkosh.wi.us or Jake Timm in Oshkosh Media at 236-5261 and jtimm@ci.oshkosh.wi.us by Saturday, April 11 at 4 p.m. 2. GO TRANSIT STARTS NEW TRIENNIAL WITH CLEAN SLATE: As you may recall, the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) reviews all transit systems every 3 years in a process called the Triennial Review. The Triennial Review is one of the FTA’s management tools for examining grantee performance and adherence to FTA requirements and policies. The review currently examines 21 areas. GO Transit was reviewed in 2019. The review resulted in 2 minor administrative findings. The average number of findings per review is 7 so overall the review went very well. Those minor findings were resolved and GO Transit received notice that their 2019 triennial review has been satisfactorily closed out. If you have any questions about GO Transit, please contact transportation director, Jim Collins. 3. EMERGENCY OPERATION CENTER STILL ACTIVE: As the coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to impact our community the EOC is still being utilized. Measures and guidelines are changing hourly and EOC staff are still taking all the necessary health and safety precautions in accordance with the CDC, and local and state health officials. As we adjust to the new normal it is important to realize that by continuing to follow the “Safer at Home” order we are reducing the risk and spread of COVID 19.
