HomeMy WebLinkAbout28. 20-128 MARCH 24, 2020 20-128 RESOLUTION (CARRIED LOST LAID OVER X WITHDRAWN ) UNTIL APRIL 14, 2020 PURPOSE: AWARD BID TO STATZ RESTORATION FOR EXTERIOR REHABILITATION FOR THE PUBLIC MUSEUM CARRIAGE HOUSE ($67,700.00) INITIATED BY: PURCHASING DIVISION WHEREAS, the City of Oshkosh has heretofore advertised for bids for exterior rehabilitation work needed for the Public Museum Carriage House; and WHEREAS,upon the opening and tabulation of bids, it appears that the following is the most advantageous bid: STATZ RESTORATION N57W13580 Reichert Ave Menomonee Falls, WI 53051 Total Bid: $67,700.00 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Oshkosh that the said bid is hereby accepted and the proper City officials are hereby authorized and directed to enter into an appropriate agreement for the purpose of same, all according to plans, specifications, and bid on file. No. 0323 1070 7214 63910 Buildings- Sawyer Home & Carriage House Repair , M City (",) r Oshkosh TO: Honorable Mayor and Members of the Common Council FROM: Jon G.Urben, General Services Manager DATE: March 18,2020 RE: Award Bid to Statz Restoration for Exterior Rehabilitation for the Public Museum Carriage House ($67,700.00) BACKGROUND The Common Council allocated $85,000 in the 2019 CIP to address various exterior rehabilitation work needed at the Public Museum's Carriage House building. This bid addresses the first phase of rehabilitation work for this building and will repair the brick, stone and mortar on the two Carriage House exterior chimneys in addition to repairing the distressed bricks and mortar of the building's exterior piers that flank the east-facing carriage doors. The Museum engaged Facility Engineering to coordinate the rehabilitation assessment,bid specifications and construction oversight. ANALYSIS Working with Facility Engineering and Public Museum staff,Purchasing prepared bid specifications for this project. The bid was advertised in the local newspaper. Bids were due March 10, 2020. The bid tab is attached. It was the consensus of Facility Engineering and City staff that the Statz Restoration bid met all the minimum bid requirements. FISCAL IMPACT The fiscal impact of this bid is$67,700.00. This bid, added to Facility Engineering's fee of$26,963 brings the total fiscal impact of this project to$94,663. The 2019 CIP allocated$85,000 for this project. Funds in the amount of $10,100 were transferred from 0323-1070 7214 63909 (Buildings - Steiger Wing Entrance Expansion-Phase I), 2019 CIP, to cover the balance needed. This project will be charged to A/N#: 03231070 7214 63910 (Buildings-Sawyer Home&Carriage House Repair).
