including monthly storytelling events, as well as developed
a summer school curriculum. My co-intern and I teamed to
develop the events and curriculum, and recruited talent
from our community. Following this experience, I was one
of the founding board members for Music Only Makes
Sense (Davis, CA), which is a non-profit organization that
produces the now annual Davis Music Festival. I supported
the planning for the first annual festival, contributing to
seeking out performers and developing relationships with
venues throughout the city. When I relocated to Portland,
OR, I became a volunteer with Adaptive and Inclusive
Recreation with Portland Parks and Recreation and
supported events for participants. Since moving to Oshkosh
in August 2018, I have connected with a local running
group, and have been fortunate to gain an introduction to
much of the green space that Oshkosh has to offer. I would
love to offer my experience in and passion for developing
programs that encourage connection and community
building, particularly in our outdoor public spaces. As a
mental health professional, I also understand the vast
importance of green space, access, and inclusiveness in
contributing to healthier and safer communities.

ideas and feedback to support community building with a
particular focus on connection and health.
